1. Introduction
It meets the requirements of GB/T17651.1~2 and IEC61034-1~2 “Determination of Smoke Density of Burning Cables or Fiber Optic Cables under Specific Conditions” Part 1 “Test Equipment” and Part 2 “Test Procedures and Requirements”. Measurement of smoke density is an important aspect of evaluating the burning characteristics of cables or optical fiber cables, which is related to evacuation of personnel and judging the proximity to the fire. The instrument is mainly used to measure the smoke concentration and verify the smoke density of cables and fiber optic cables when they burn under specific conditions. Under flaming or flameless burning conditions, transmittance is used as a measurement method to compare the burning performance of different cables or fiber optic cables under specific conditions.

It

3.
Principle
The
smoke
density
optical
measurement
system
for
cable
or
optical
cable
burning
under
specific
conditions
consists
of
a
light
source,
a
silicon
photocell,
a
light
source
receiver
and
a
computer
system.
The
light
generated
by
the
light
source
passes
through
a
3m×3m×3m
smoke
density
laboratory
and
forms
a
uniform
beam
of
light
with
a
diameter
of
1.5m±0.1m
on
the
wall
opposite
the
light
source.
The
photocell
installed
in
the
center
of
the
beam
detects
the
intensity
of
the
beam
from
the
light
source.
When
a
large
amount
of
smoke
is
generated
in
the
combustion
chamber
due
to
the
burning
of
cables
or
optical
cables,
the
smoke
absorbs
part
of
the
photoelectricity
and
the
beam
intensity
of
the
silicon
photocell
is
weakened.
By
processing
the
data
through
the
computer
system,
the
transmittance
with
a
linear
response
relative
to
the
initial
transmittance
can
be
calculated
to
be
100%.

of
the
combustion
chamber
adopts
two
ways
for
customers
to
choose:
the
first
brick
wall,
our
company
recommends
the
design
plan
and
sends
professional
engineers
to
guide
the
construction
on
site;
the
second
is
fixed
on
the
angle
iron
bracket

the
